Vacheron Constantin – Learning from the experts

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle Chronograph

We’re pleased to welcome some of our watch experts – Michael Groffenberger, Chris Hislop, and Brian Walker – back from Denver, where they attended an intensive Vacheron Constantin watch training program.  We invite you to visit them at our Newbury Street Watch Salon to hear what they learned about some of the world’s most beautiful and sophisticated timepieces.

The world’s oldest watch manufacturer in continuous operation since 1755, Vacheron Constantin is even older than Shreve, Crump & Low and has been selling watches in the United States since 1832.  In 2006, they started Atelier Cabinotiers, a special workshop dedicated to creating bespoke timepieces – unique watches, entirely custom-made and created on an individual commission basis.  These watches often embody a dream or a passion.  They are an expression of aspiration, legendary because they are spoken of more often than they are actually seen. According to Vacheron Constantin, “No collections of catalogues here, only a listening ear. It all starts with a narrative: the client’s private story. A history fan might ask for the reproduction of a painting by one of the great masters in grand feu enamel on the dial; an aspiring Romeo might want his piece to chime once a year on his Juliet’s birthday; or a grand complications enthusiast might dream of owning a ground-breaking mechanical masterpiece. “

While we understand that few may be in the position to commission a bespoke timepiece, we invite you to visit our Newbury Street Watch Salon to learn more about Vacheron Constantin and these truly unique timepieces.

Shreve, Crump & Low Welcomes Vacheron Constantin

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Model Number 87172-000G-9301

Shreve, Crump & Low is honored to be an authorized dealer for Vacheron Constantin, the world’s oldest watch manufacturer in continuous operation since 1755 and founder of the spirit of technical and precious Haute Horlogerie.  In our Newbury Street Watch Salon, we carry watches from the Patrimony, Overseas Chronograph, and Historique 1921 collections, among others.

Vacheron Constantin has been making horological history for over 250 years. From the beginning, it has concentrated on building and consolidating its tradition for technical and aesthetic excellence. This is best illustrated by its timepieces, whose hand-finishing is of an exceptional quality.

Drawing from their spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation and excellence, coupled with their commitment to serving the American market, Vacheron Constantin began selling watches in New York in 1832. The brand has grown and continued to flourish in the 20th century. Its timepieces have been owned by such eminent personalities as members of the Rockefeller family, Henry and William Jams, and Presidents Harry Truman and Dwight D. Eisenhower.
